Turkish Patent Office to Host a Watch Design Competition Launch Event

The Technology Transfer Office Coordination Unit at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is organizing a “Watch Design Competition” in collaboration with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office to raise awareness in the field of design, promote the use of intellectual property rights, and foster the development of original ideas.

The competition, with the 2026 theme set as “Watch Design,” will be held in three separate categories: high school, university (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral), and open participation. Participants are expected to submit three separate designs: 1 men’s wristwatch, 1 women’s wristwatch, and 1 desk clock. Designs will be evaluated based on the criteria of originality, aesthetics, functionality, and commercial potential.
